Considered our first line of defense, our skin, when damaged, needs time to repair itself. The return of skin to its normal, healthy appearance does not happen overnight. Difficulties may arise during the repair, which can further prolong the process. This is particularly evident during pregnancy with the appearance of stretch marks. The skin cannot restructure itself correctly & lacks firmness. Centella asiatica titrated extract, better known as CICA or tiger grass, is a highly purified composition of some of the most potent molecules found in this plant. CICA works to repair damaged skin more quickly and restore skin integrity by stimulating vital proteins in the dermis and through a soothing effect. Our extract is produced from wild centella asiatica harvested in Madagascar. This particular botanical variety is more stable in the composition of pentacyclic triterpenes (actives), has a greater quantity of these actives and grows wild. When cultivated, it loses its pharmacological profile and has a low active content. In our formulation we combine CICA with Provitamin B5 (panthenol) known for its restorative, healing, anti-inflammatory, soothing and regenerating actions. Applied locally, panthenol penetrates the epidermis where it is absorbed by the skin cells and transformed into pantothenic acid, this is where it acts on the hydration of the stratum corneum. In addition, it helps to strengthen the hydrolipidic film, fighting against water loss and dehydration. Panthenol is also used to treat superficial lesions of the skin and mucous membranes. It can indeed help repair the skin barrier, accelerates and improves healing by stimulating the proliferation of fibroblasts. It promotes rapid cell renewal. Soothing agent, it also calms irritations, inflammations and redness.
